EUREKA ‘Clusters’ are long term industrial organizations focusing on specific industry sectors. The EUREKA clusters bring together large companies along with SMEs, research institutes and universities from EUREKA States to develop technologies for important sectors such as ICT, energy or water.

Their primary goal is to maintain Europe's leading position in the market. Commercial exploitation of new technologies leading to job creation is the key objective of EUREKA Clusters.

Each Eureka Cluster has a technological roadmap describing their vision and the technology challenges to be adressed. Individual projects aim to tackle new technological needs mentioned in the roadmap. Roadmaps and projects are constantly adjusted to the current technological environment and designed to adress new challenges in rapidly changing market.
